  • 21. 5. 2013 Street for Art is Putting Down Roots
    Street for Art Festival begins its sixth year on 22nd May in a new location at Černý Most. The festival continues until 29th May.
  • 20. 5. 2013 Rare Leopard in Prague Zoo
    The first Javan leopard is settling down in the House of Big Cats in Prague Zoo. The last hundred of these felines live in their natural habitat on the island of Java. This species is also very rare in zoological gardens. The only other Javan leopard in Europe lives in Berlin Zoo.

    The charming Japanese garden, which is part of Prague Botanical Garden, is richer by another tree. It was planted by Dagmar Havlová, widow of the former President Václav Havel.

    The biggest musical event of the Czech Republic is officially starting on 12th May. Smetana´s Má vlast (My homeland) will be performed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and conducted by Peter Oundjian.
  • 10. 5. 2013 St. John’s Navalis Brings Vltava to Life
    Five torches will burn on the river under Charles Bridge on 15th May as the symbol of St. John of Nepomuk. Five stars are the symbol of the martyr’s death and also symbolize the word “Tacet”, meaning “be silent”.
  • 9. 5. 2013 Discover Unknown Places of Czech Republic at Vyšehrad
    From 11th May to 15th June, the 5th edition of the exhibition My Country – The Roads of Changes held at Vyšehrad presents places that have grown in beauty, places that we might not even have heard about and places that are worth visiting.
