Street for Art is Putting Down Roots

Rare Leopard in Prague Zoo
The first Javan leopard is settling down in the House of Big Cats in Prague Zoo. The last hundred of these felines live in their natural habitat on the island of Java. This species is also very rare in zoological gardens. The only other Javan leopard in Europe lives in Berlin Zoo.

Dagmar Havlová Planted Tree in Botanical Gardens
The charming Japanese garden, which is part of Prague Botanical Garden, is richer by another tree. It was planted by Dagmar Havlová, widow of the former President Václav Havel.

Mucha’s Posters Are A Hit
The fifty thousandth person visited the exhibition of Alfons Mucha’s posters from Ivan Lendl’s collection in the Municipal House, Prague on 14th May shortly after 10 a.m.. It was Ms. Bohuslava Bednaříková from Zlín.

The biggest musical event of the Czech Republic is officially starting on 12th May. Smetana´s Má vlast (My homeland) will be performed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and conducted by Peter Oundjian.

St. John’s Navalis Brings Vltava to Life
Five torches will burn on the river under Charles Bridge on 15th May as the symbol of St. John of Nepomuk. Five stars are the symbol of the martyr’s death and also symbolize the word “Tacet”, meaning “be silent”.
