On 18th May 2013, Prague City Museum will celebrate the International Museum Day as well as its 130th anniversary of the opening its first expositions to the public. During this event, the admission to the exhibitions is free.

The fifty thousandth person visited the exhibition of Alfons Mucha’s posters from Ivan Lendl’s collection in the Municipal House, Prague on 14th May shortly after 10 a.m.. It was Ms. Bohuslava Bednaříková from Zlín.

For the ninth time the museums of the Capital City are preparing for Prague Museum Night on 8th June. Anyone interested now has the chance to get ready for this big museum experience as the event website www.prazskamuzejninoc.cz has now been activated.

The biggest musical event of the Czech Republic is officially starting on 12th May. Smetana´s Má vlast (My homeland) will be performed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and conducted by Peter Oundjian.

Five torches will burn on the river under Charles Bridge on 15th May as the symbol of St. John of Nepomuk. Five stars are the symbol of the martyr’s death and also symbolize the word “Tacet”, meaning “be silent”.

From 11th May to 15th June, the 5th edition of the exhibition My Country – The Roads of Changes held at Vyšehrad presents places that have grown in beauty, places that we might not even have heard about and places that are worth visiting.

The Lesy hl. m. Prahy (Forests of the City of Prague) company in cooperation with Prague City Hall prepared a two-day event DAYS OF WATER, alias Water for Life, that will be held on 4th and 5th June in Stromovka.

For a long time, Prague Zoo has been involved in the protection of endangered species in their natural habitat. One of the major projects is The Wandering Bus with a new account with the same name (The Wandering Bus account no. 107 – 475 696 0237 / 0100).

¨The festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary on 21st and 22nd June. The festivities will take place on the islands as well as the parks, orchards, and gardens.
