For the 13th year the Byrokrat Cup (Bureaucrat Cup) sports series for company teams offers sixteen tournaments in twelve different sports. Companies of all types can measure their sporting strength against competitors right on the playing field.

Due to the Easter Holiday, the 20th year of Febiofest will be held a bit sooner than usual, between 14th and 22nd March. Because this is a jubilee year for the festival, it will be graced by the presence of some highly distinguished guests. The first mentioned one is Geraldine Chaplin who visited Febiofest already in 2006.

On 16th February 2013, Náplavka Farmers’ Market starts its third season on Rašín Embankment. All the sellers, farmers and primary producers will come to Náplavka with their traditional seasonal range of products, which changes slightly each month, depending on the time of the year.

After eighty years of its existence, Prague zoo has finally welcomed its first baby elephant, despite the fact that elephant breeding has had a long tradition in Prague.

An exhibition at the National Technical Library Gallery entitled “(O)svícení” (About lighting/ Enlightenment), which runs until 4th March, presents the use of neon lighting both past and present in modern architecture.

A great event for all travellers, HOLIDAY WORLD travel fair, is drawing near. This year it will take place between 7th and 10th February in Prague Exhibition Grounds together with the 7th year of the gastronomic fair TOP GASTRO & HOTEL and the 18th year of GOLF SHOW fair. Tuesday and Friday is earmarked for the experts in the field while the public can visit the event on Saturday and Sunday.

The interior or St. Salvator Church will be transformed in a unique way for the duration of Lent. A collection of Lent paintings by Patrik Hábl will temporarily replace all the altarpieces. This artistic intervention is part of this year’s event Popelec Umělců (Ashes of Artists), which takes place at the academic parish on 13th February 2013.

Prague Zoo is overjoyed with the birth of the new Sumatran orang-utan, one of the most endangered ape species of our planet. Her mother Mawar gave birth on Sunday morning. Because of this event the Indonesian Jungle Pavilion remains closed to provide absolute peace and quiet for the mother and her young.
