The competition and exhibition, which has approximately ten thousand entries from the best amateur and professional wildlife photographers every year, is introducing photographs in several categories. This overseas competition provides a counterbalance to the current news snaps World Press Photo. Even this year both exhibitions will meet in Prague at the same time and this way will offer the spectators the chance to compare top international photography from two different genres.
Thanks to Novoměstská Town Hall the organizers are expanding this year’s Wildlife Photographer by other special activities in the wildlife photography field and at the same time will introduce a brand new collection of photographs from well-known company the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.
Next to the main exhibition collections there will also be room made for a collection of the best Czech wildlife photographers. This is a unique project of surreal photo-graphics, “social” photographs taken in zoos, macro photograph of dragon flies by Dan Bárta and other “treats” will be on offer.
Close to three hundred large format photographs together with a supporting program including a film projection in an interesting installation which will welcome visitors to New Town Hall in Prague; this year’s event is the biggest of its kind in the Czech Republic – a true festival of wildlife photography.
The exhibition is under the patronage of Prague’s mayor.
