The 6th Prague Short Film Festival will be held from 19th to 23rd January 2011 in the Světozor Cinema, Prague. The organizers are the same as those of the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary. Prague Short Film Festival is an international competition of films of up to 25 minutes in length, created over the last year. It also presents a diverse non-competitive programme, mapping the situation in the world’s short cinematography.

After December’s presentation of Audrey Hepburn films, Světozor and Aero cinemas are continuing to present the pearls of world cinematography in restored and digitized format. Now it is the turn for films on a Mafia theme. Throughout January cinema-goers will have the chance to see three famous gangster films – The Godfather, The Godfather Part II and The Untouchables.

After having toured 23 Czech towns, the festival featuring travel movies is now coming to Prague. The event will be held until 4th December when it will culminate by the ceremonial prize award ceremony.

For the fifth time, the Inventura festival team is holding Normal Festival – a presentation of artwork by people with a mental handicap. The festival starts on 17th November and this year’s topic is Conquering Public Spaces.

Slowly, but surely, the Mezipatra festival of Queer art and film is moving from Brno to Prague. The 11th year of the festival, which begins on 11th November in Lucerna cinema, includes many exhibitions, shows and discussions devoted to the theme of emancipation of sexual minorities.

Two towns, four cinemas, four thematic sections, ten evenings, 27 movies and documentaries are getting the film reels rolling at the beginning of October. We have the chance to see the fifth year of this favourite film festival featuring a great selection of what is most interesting in current German cinematography.

In the streets of Prague a film is being made by students of FAMU (Film and TV school of Academy of Performing Arts) entitled Praho, má lásko (Prague, my love). The public will see the film in March next year.

Cinema Bus Comes to Town Bringing Czech Movies

The first year of PIAF (Prague International Advertising Festival) will be held between 19th and 21st May 2010 in Prague’s palace Žofín. Leading world experts in the advertising and marketing field will be converging on Prague. The programme will feature a competition of creative advertising and international conferences visited by many of the world’s masters of spin. The founder, CEO and Executive Creative Director of Leagas Delaney, Tim Delaney, will preside over the international festival jury.
