Who will get Kristián?

As in previous years, awards will be given at the festival. Italian actor and director Nanni Moretti and French actress Sandrine Bonnair will receive the Kristián Award at the beginning of the event. At the end of the festival the Kristián Award for contribution to world cinematography will go to Agnieszka Holland, who is currently shooting a trilogy about Jan Palach in Prague.

Awarded film-makers

At the very beginning, the Association of Directors and Screenwriters will award Jaromil Jireš Awards the State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography for the support of Čestmír Kopecky’s project the Golden Sixties. The award will also go to the former director of the National Film Archive, Vladimír Opěl, for his expert publication activities in the archive.

Famous guests

The festival will be held between 22nd and 30th March in the multi-cinema Cinestar Anděl and Ponrepo cinema, which will feature a retrospective of Jiří Krejčík’s movies. Among many others guests will be the Slovak actress Zuzana Kronerová and Andrej Zvjagincev, he is a much acclaimed Russian director and actor and winner of Golden Palm for the movie The Return.
