Hollywood-style fantasy, horror movies, absurd comedies, social dramas, psychological films, animated movies, documentaries, as well as experimental films will be presented at the 7th edition of the Festival of Spanish Film, La Pelicula.
The festival will show eighteen contemporary and archival Spanish films, as well as four films from Venezuela. Venezuelan productions will present e.g. a tropical thriller genre, often stories from the country’s modern history filmed in a naturalistic way.
The selection of the best from Spanish film productions over the last two years also includes a collection of neo- realistic films filmed between the years 1951 and 1961 by such directors as Carlos Saura or Luis Buňuel. In total, the programme numbers 22 films, which is the festival’s record.
One of the biggest highlights of this year’s edition is the feature film Chico and Rita which has recently been nominated for an Oscar in the category of best animated films. For full programme, visit www.lapelicula.cz.
