Gangster behind the camera
Just two days before the start of the festival, the acclaimed film director and actor Takeshi Kitano will celebrate his 65th birthday. “The retrospective of his works, from his debut Violent Cop,1989, to his most recent film Outrage, 2010, forms the axis of this year’s fifth edition of the festival,“ said the festival’s director Robin Šóen Heřman. Takeshi Kitano is not only an actor, a popular representative of stoic gangster roles but also an adored TV comedian and an exceptional writer.
