On Sunday 17th June from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. a Fathers‘ Day celebration Tátafest 2012 will take place in Parukářka Park, Prague. The event, organized by the League of Open Men and the Union of Centres for Families and Communities, wants to emphasise the importance of active fatherhood and create a playful space for dads, their children, families and friends. The programme includes concerts, workshops, a raffle with valuable prizes, games, competitions, refreshment stalls and a tea room.

It is now for the fifth season that Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) has produced the summer film festival Cinebus. The Cinebus is playing from 10th June to 1st September. This year the mobile cinema will visit 23 locations in Prague and surrounding areas.

The mare Cassovia, a Przewalski horse from Prague Zoo which was transported last year to the Mongolian reservation of Khomiin Tal, gave birth to a female foal. The birth went smoothly.

Aneta Langerová, Simona Stašová and Jiřina Bohdalová in the presence of sponsors opened Potmě Café in Ovocný Trh. The café will serve customers until 21st June.

From 7th to 10th June, specialities from France, Spain, Italy and Greece will be presented in Náměstí Republiky. In September, the festival continues in Kampa.

Small breweries with their own restaurants offer a great beer-drinking experience in Prague. These small breweries offer quite different beer than the standard light lager. It’s a real diversion from the general stereotype. There are around twenty such breweries to be found in and around Prague, no-one has actually counted them precisely.

For the third time, the National Heritage Institute organizes the Open Gardens Weekend, held from 8th to 10th June. The weekend is part of the “Monuments Come to Life” project and takes place in cooperation with The Czech Landscape and Garden Society (SZKT).

A family-focused festival in Parukářka park on 8th and 9th June 2012 will present around 100 beers from thirty small Czech breweries. On Sunday a collectors fair in Jiřího z Poděbrad square, will offer the chance to buy homebrewing ingredients.
