Last year the festival’s sponsors included Prague City Hall. “In 2012 the Czech Beer Festival Prague 2012 will be held in the Exhibition Centre in Holešovice,” said festival spokesperson Jan Hájek. It has moved to the centre of Prague from Letňany on the outskirts.
Strong competition
The Czech Beer Festival has been included on a list of events such as the Summer Olympic Games in London, the International Film Festival in Cannes, Wimbledon Tennis Championship and the Munich Oktoberfest, or even the Tour de France or the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
For Czech Beer
The fifth year of the festival, which mainly presents the products of Czech breweries, takes place from 17th May to 2nd June 2012. The organisers already expect an attendance of over 100,000 people. Unlike Oktoberfest, which offers the beers of only a few breweries, it will be possible to taste about 100 beers from small and large breweries whose production, to tell the truth, is improving from year to year. Such an opportunity to taste so many types of beer will be hard to find anywhere else in Europe.
