Kroužky na Vltavě – Starting at 3 p.m. Free ice-cream and balloons for little visitors. The event is held under the auspices of Cllr. Aleksandra Udženija. Children can look forward to Dáda Patrasová, clown with balloons, big competition trail and nice presents, face painting and other programmes. Admission free.
Prague House of Children and Youth its centres organize a number of events. The activities and entertaining programmes will please not only children but also adults. Karlínské Spektrum from 15h to 18 h in Kaizlovy Sady, Karlín – individual competition points include making windmills, spinning tops, hopscotch and many others. The local stage will present the children’s folklore ensemble Osminka, organ grinder and magician and European yo-yo champion Tomáš Bubák. Small children can enjoy a bouncy castle.
Stanice přírodovědců na Smíchově (Naturalist Station, Smíchov) will allow the visitors to see the newly adapted terraria full of exotic amphibians and reptiles, including the Nile crocodile. Klub Klamovka organizes competitions, face painting and rhythmical instruments in the park and children’s playground for pre-school children accompanied by parents. Scout Children’s Day in Prague City Museum – a possibility to see what is one day in the Scout community like accompanied with an entertaining programme. This is what the organizers of the exhibition A Litter Bit Better World – a century of scouting promise. The exhibition has been held in the museum since March. On Friday 1st June, the exhibition will be supplemented with scouting activities for children from 12.00 to 18.00 h. Children can look forward to a fight with a dragon, decoding a secret code or electrical maze. These activities will take place in front of museum’s building in Florenc. The programme is mainly intended for primary school children, the exhibition for children and adults alike. Admission to the outside activities is free. The exhibition costs 30 CZK per child in an organized group of children with accompanying adults for free. Other types of tickets are governed by the usual pricelist of Prague City Museum.
Children’s Day on a bobsleigh track. Another venue is the bobsleigh track in Prosek where you can try to set a new record speed on the 800 metre- long track. The maximum speed limit of 50 km/h does not apply. Every bobsleigh has a safety brake, this is why children as young as eight years can go on the bobsleigh on their own. The playground includes a climbing wall. Little children can play in a children’s corner and there are also baby changing facilities. At the weekend, children can also visit the rope park with new obstacles of 1 metre for smaller climbers between the ages of 3 and 15.
House of Children and Youth, Prague 4 – Hobby centrum. Programme from 8.00 a.m. to 5 p.m., creative activities, sports, entertainment. The event is also suitable for families with children. Kids go free, admission for adults is 25 CZK.
Technicians Station Vyšehrad, Vratislavova 15, Prague 2. Interesting programme focusing on regular activities of the station for children of all ages. Children will have the opportunity to try e.g. to build a model of an airplane, make an electronic product and programmable robots, create digital photographs and video clips, try digital car racing, play pool, Nintendo Wii, board games and try out some graphic and animation techniques. Whatever product the children make, they can take them home. Time: 8.30–15.00 h, admission free.
International Children’s Day in Riegrovy Sady. Face painting, walking on stilts, juggling workshop, movement workshop, dancing workshop, musical workshop and many others. Starts at 10 a.m.. Performances by Pan Václav and his magic bag – 14.30–16.00 h ANPU Theatre – La Chambre separé, Svět loutek klíčovou dírkou. Performances for One Spectator. 16.00–17.00 h final dancing.
Children’s Day in Prague 13. A pile of competitions and games with swings, balloons, witty scenes and refreshments for children from Prague 13 pre-schools. The event is organized by the town hall along with Albertík and is held under the auspices of the Mayor David Vodrážka.
SATURDAY 2nd June
Children modelers day at Sobínka modeler airport. Starts at 9.00 h. Entertainment for the whole family. Flight demonstrations, performances by musical and dance groups, competitions, games, creative workshops, bouncy castle. Admission: adults 20 CZK, children up to 150 cm for free, 50 CZK parking fee.
Children’s Day in the garden of Pod Petřínem Hospital held from 14 to 17 h. Children can look forward to a play about naughty ghost kids, competitions and games, as well as birds of prey and presentations of modern firefighting technology.
Celebrations on tracks. This year, Prague 12 celebrates the 130th anniversary of the arrival of the first passenger train to Modřany. The event will take place at Braník Train Station from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The event will be opened by the Mayor of Prague 12 Petr Prchal. Programme includes two children ensembles – Sluníčko and Modřenec. Prague 12 bought 200 tickets for a steam train for children over six years of age. The tickets can be collected for free at the town hall reception in Písková Street from 26th to 30th May. The train dispatcher Petr Pavlík will let children from Prague 12 get on and off the train in Modřany.
Czech Marbles Championship, Vypich. Registration from 10 a.m., starting fee: adults 100 CZK, juniors (up to 12 years) 50 CZK. The tournament is open to anyone. If there are at least three juniors, they will only compete with each other. If there are fewer of them, they will play with adults.
Run for Gorillas – third edition of the charitable race starting at 1 p.m. in Hradčanské Square. The event supports the survival of gorillas in the wild. Winners will be announced in Náměstí Republiky at 15.00 and 15.30 h.
SUNDAY 3rd June
Horse Racing Day with Municipal Police. Conseque Park racecourse and Prague Municipal Police organize a Horse Racing Day in Velká Chuchle racecourse from 14 h. The sports programme consists of eight flat races. The highlight of the event will be the 61st edition of June Grand Prix (2200 m) for three-year old horses. Accompanying events are organized by the Municipal Police and spectators can look forward to e.g. a horse parade in front of the stands (14.10 h), demonstrations of police training on horses, football on horse back, demonstrations by the Municipal Police dog handlers, presentation of police technology, paintball, bouncy castle and other games for kids.
