The competition will be held over two days – on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February – in SmíchOFF Climbing Centre (on the grounds of the former Škoda – Naftové motory factory in Křížová Street 6, just a few metres from the Czech Social Security Administration building. The reason why the competition is spread over two days was to give everybody the opportunity to try their skill in this unusual discipline. The only condition is that all participants must be at least 16 years old.
1st day (MASTER category)
Saturday 20th February will see an open qualification in which the style flash will be used. There will be seven levels from 4 to 9 UIAA. At their presentation, competitors will choose the level at which they want to start. If they successfully finish their level, they can move up to a higher one. If competitors do not reach the TOP, the highest point they reached will be counted. 20 men will then qualify for Sunday’s semi-finals and 8 women will go directly into the finals.
2nd day (ELITE category)
Competitors that qualify on Saturday and some seeded competitors will take part in the semi-finals. Only the organizer has the right to put a competitor right through to the semi-finals or the finals. The Sunday competition will have two rounds in each category, i.e. semi-finals and finals. Eight men and eight women will then compete in the finals, in which the OS style will be used.
Top Climbers will appear on Sunday
While the first day will be mostly dedicated to the general climbing public, the organizers conceived the second day as an event in which they have tried to attract not only the best Czech climbers but also some foreign aces.
The whole competition will follow the IFSC rules.
