Dragon boats are suitable for all age categories, therefore you will see not only company teams on the starting line but also a senior team Sdružení Život 90 (the Life 90 Association) and teams of kids from children homes. All profit will be divided between Sananim, Naše dítě (foundation Our Child) and Life 90. You will find more information here.
During the last competition the money raised came to over half million Czech crowns.
It will be dramatic
The teams will compete next to Shooting Island on a track that measures 200 metres. The event will start at 12 noon and the winners will be announced at 4 pm. The programme including refreshment, jugglers and games and will be happening between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm. “A novelty for this year is that prior to the competition the teams will train directly at Shooting Island , which is no doubt a very attractive spectacle for the visitors,” said Marek Páleník, who is one of the organisers.
Actors from Karlín and many children
Amongst many others, we can look forward to the team from Karlín Music Theatre. Dasha and Noid have promised to take care of entertainment so there will be some singing. Dasha also promised to do all in her power to ensure her team’s victory. On top of that we will see 14 children teams at the track.
