The New Year’s fireworks display was a little bit longer that the preceding ones. Compared to last year’s 777 seconds, this year’s fireworks lasted exactly one thousand seconds, which is 16 minutes and 40 seconds. " The conception of our New Year’s Show comes from the project of fireworks called Summer Rainbow, with which we represented the Czech Republic last year in the prestigious festival of traditional acoustic fireworks in Spanish Bilbao," said Jaroslav Štolba from company Flash Barrandov Special Effects, which is in charge of the fireworks.
Japanese novelties
Spectators were amazed at new effects, mainly the Japanese type of spherical and cylindrical pumas from company San Tai. These pyrotechnic products were only certified in 2007 by the Czech Proof House for Firearms and Ammunition. What was important was the brightness of colours, spontaneity, humour and surprise, definitely not maximal noise and aggressiveness of the display. And of course that traditional flower motives and large geometrical effects were not absent from the show.
