Passengers thus have the opportunity to view not only the unique artistic interior of the former waiting room for wealthy passengers but also a flower exhibition organized by the Exhibition Grounds in Olomouc.
Trains every hour
“In this unusual way, the organizers hope to attract the inhabitants of Prague and Central Bohemia to the metropolis of Haná region. Every hour, Czech Railways dispatch high quality trains from Prague to Olomouc,” said the spokesperson for the Czech Railways Radek Joklík. Flora Olomouc exhibition is being held from Thursday 19th August until Sunday 22nd August. The official Carrier is Czech Raiways, which have prepared a special offer for the visitors to the exhibition “Train + Flora Olomouc”.
Good way to pass time while waiting
“This co-operation gave rise to the idea of organizing a flower exhibition in our premises at the Main Railway Station, Prague. The Government Lounge is normally closed to the public. As there was the possibility to make it accessible while promoting the Flora exhibition, the town of Olomouc and our products, we were happy to offer it to our partners,” explained the Deputy Director General of Czech Railways Antonín Blažek. Even if people do not travel to Olomouc, the small Flora exhibition is a welcome diversification of their waiting time.
Quicker than travelling by car
The arrangement in the Government Lounge had been prepared by Florists Association of the CR. The stalls of Czech Railways and the town of Olomouc are placed in the lobby. Thus, besides seeing the flower exhibition, passengers obtain information about what Czech Railways has to offer, including the discounted TRAIN+ tickets. Trains between Prague and Olomouc operate every hour. These are high quality trains, mostly EuroCity but also e.g. SuperCity Pendolino, which makes the journey in 2 hours and 7 minutes, which is quicker than travelling by car.
To Olomouc at weekend
Families have the opportunity to make use of the SONE + ticket for only 450Kc, which is valid throughout the whole of Saturday and Sunday in the total area of the CR. The ticket can be used by two adults and up to three children under 15. SONE+ is valid on all Czech Railway trains, however, those who want to travel by Pendolino must purchase seat reservation tickets as well.
Half price tickets to Flora Olomouc exhibition
Czech Railways offer all visitors to the Flora Olomouc exhibition a special ticket VLAK+. Passengers thus can purchase a return ticket to Olomouc from any Czech Railway stations for the price of a single ticket. The only condition is that they need to get a stamp from the Czech Railways stall at the exhibition in Olomouc. The discount is valid on 2nd class trains and passengers thus can save half of the usual price. The ticket is valid on 19th, 20th, 21st or 22nd August. Advanced ticket sales were launched as early as 8th August. The commemorative stamp on the return ticket must be on the front side of the ticket. The exhibition Little Flora at the Main Railway Station in Prague has been organized by Flora Olomouc Exhibition Grounds, the town of Olomouc and the Florists Association of the CR. It is open from Tuesday 17th August from 12 to 6 p.m., the following days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Saturday noon.
