Nora gave birth on 9th February. The labour took over two hours, just as Eliška's on 11th February and went smoothly. Both mothers and their young are well.
A male and a female
Nora gave birth to a little female giraffe called Apolena. Eliška has a little male giraffe, who has not been named yet. Visitors to the website tn.cz can help to choose the name. They can choose between three names Arpád, Mojmír or Vincek. For more details, visit the zoo's website.
The father is Johan
The father of both baby giraffes is the twelve-year-old Johan, originally from Netherlands, who came to Prague from the French Zoo Thoira in 2004.
