Nevertheless, visitors will have the extraordinary opportunity to visit palace and chateau gardens or parts of them throughout the month of June 2012 by attending special guided tours, garden parties, decorating events, seminars, exhibitions and other accompanying events.
Good idea from Britain
“The Open Gardens Weekend follows the tradition originating in London, England, where every third weekend in June is dedicated to historical greenery, parks and small garden architecture. During the weekend normally inaccessible gardens and their parts are open to the public,” said the General Director of the National Heritage Institute Ing. arch. Naďa Goryczková.
Inaccessible places open to the public
The objective of the Open Gardens Weekend project is to raise the awareness of the beauty and diversity of greenery in our towns, greenery surrounding historical sights and of public and private gardens and squares and thus help to increase the interest in vegetational elements and allow for new inspiration. Those who are interested will have the opportunity to visit almost forty interesting spaces not only in Prague but all over the Czech Republic.
