POTMĚ Café is back in Prague, heading also for other regions of the CR and Slovakia

On Wednesday 6th June at 1 p.m., the door to POTMĚ Café in Ovocný Trh, Prague, will open for the eighth time in its history. In the café, you will be served by blind waiters. The first guests will be Aneta Langerová, patroness of Světluška project, and actresses Jiřina Bohdalová and Simona Stašová. If you want to have a cup of the famous black coffee, see what it’s like to perceive the world without one of the most important senses - sight, you can do so daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. until 21st June.

The project of the Czech Radio Endowment Fund was founded in order to present the blind in a different way. It is a place where the roles of those who can see and those who cannot get swapped for a while. It is a place where you can fully rely on people who move in the dark with extraordinary ease – it is an everyday reality for them. By visiting the café, you contribute 100 CZK to Světluška collection and as a souvenir, you obtain an unusual experience and a mug with a firefly (Světluška).

An exceptional experience, nice service and an original way to support Světluška collection – these are the reasons for growing queues in front of the café, whenever Světluška opens it.

This year, Světluška has great news! POTMĚ Café has been put on wheels and will be sent to the world. A specially adapted bus, completely blacked out will set off across the Czech Republic to visit various towns, festivals and also Bratislava.

Do not miss the opportunity to attend the baptism of the first blacked out bus, which the Czech Radio Endowment Fund presents on 19th June at 1 p.m. in Ovocný Trh, Prague, with the participation of its patroness Aneta Langerova and other friends of Světluška – Saša Rašilov with Vanda Hybnerová, Ondřej Brzobohatý, Tonya Graves, Anna Polívková, Jiří Macháček, Bára Hrzánová, Jolana Voldánová, Lucie Výborná, Petr Rajchert and Vladimír Kořen.

Donors can support Světluška at any time of the year by sending a donors’ SMS to 87 777 in the form of DMS SVETLUSKA (1 DMS = 30 CZK out of which Světluška obtains 27 CZK) or in the form of DMS ROK SVETLUSKA (regular monthly support of Světluška amounting to one DMS per month for the duration of one year).
