At the event, the brewery will officially unveil the new form of its glass bottles. The high point of the musical scene will be the joint performance by two exceptional Czech bands – Vypsaná fixa and Mňága a Žďorp. To obtain free entry, register at www.staropramen.cz/party, as the capacity of the party is limited. “Those who come to the brewery on Saturday can not only taste the best of our production but also learn a lot about the production and the history of beer in Smíchov,” says Jan Vošta, manager of the Pivovary Staropramen company.
Mňága’s and Fixa’s song duel
Two leading Czech bands - Vypsaná fixa and Mňága a Žďorp - have prepared a unique musical experience. Their joint performance starts at 4 p.m. Each band will first play five songs by the other band followed by a joint performance of the two bands. “We have been practicing together this week. We chose the following songs: Letadlo, Štěstí Jimiho Dixona, Odvážný mladý muž, Mažoretka and Potápěč. These are all beautiful songs. We are looking forward to our joint performance in front of people and are curious about the reaction of the audience,” says the fronton of Mňága a Žďorp Petr Fiala.
It will be Nagasaki-Hiroshima
Márdi from Vypsaná fixa adds: “Together with our friends from Mňága we’ve incited ourselves to a duel with each other or rather a duel with their songs, towards which we will try to find our own way. We like the songs so this is a good way with an equally good outcome. We have been practicing the whole week in Prague and our adaptation will correspond to the name of the song Nagasaki-Hiroshima.” The performance of the two bands will not be the only musical point of Saturday’s afternoon. At 7 p.m. there will be the British band The Feud and the evening will come to an end with a Czech band, whose name the organizers are keeping secret. “A proper party should have a element of surprise,” Jan Vošta explains on behalf of the organizers.
Real beer festival
The Saturday’s beer menu will consist of the history, public education and degustation of beer. The visitors will get their chance to have a look at the brewery’s history and at the same time to learn about Staropramen beer at the state-of-the-art visitors’ centre, which was opened last year. Those who are eager to learn can attend the first brewing school led by the chief brewer. And for all those who would like to taste beer, there will be ten different kinds of beer on offer, six of them on draught. On that day the beer will cost the symbolic price of 10 CZK.
The whole programme will also include various skill competitions. For more information, visit www.staropramen.cz/party.
