Eight barbecue spots
A standard equipment of a barbecue spot is a fireplace, wooden picnic table with benches and a litter bin. There should also be a pile of wood prepared on the spot, which is regularly replenished by the employees of Prague City Forests. There is no need of notification or prior booking in order to organize a barbecue in the above stated locations. However, it is necessary to stick to the visitors’ rules, which state that barbecues can only be held from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Blanket, friends and a basket full of good food
Without written permission from the authorities and a notification of the fire brigade, open fires are not allowed in parks administered by Prague City Hall. City parks, however, can be used for picnics. There are two picnic spots in Stromovka, others can be found in Petřín, including Kinských Garden, Hvězda and Vítkov. In total, there are 11 picnic areas in Prague, which is usually not sufficient. Also some restaurants have responded to the increased interest in picnics and for a couple of hundreds of crowns, they offer various picnic baskets. Such service can be used e.g. in Havlíčkovy sady or Stromovka.
