Witches Are Flying into Landronka (Portal of Prague)

This year and for the seventh time in Prague, Ladronka Park will enjoy the dizzy delights of small and big magic flying creatures. Traditional burning of witches on 30th April will start at 15.00 am and the party will run till late. “The program consists of sports, games, competitions, theatre shows and concerts by bands Žlutý pes (Yellow dog) and Airfare. There will even be grilling sausages and singing around the fire,” Major of Prague 6 Ing. Marie Kousaliková said invitingly. Entry is free.

Real witches can win some real prizes

Many competitions are prepared for the visitors such as Miss Witch and Witch on Wheels, these are only for witches dressed up in costume. For those with not enough time to get ready at home you can enjoy the fun of dressing up at the Witchy Salon of Ugliness. Participating in the competitions is not only great fun but those who like to compete can win great prizes such as a mountain bike, air tickets around Europe, sports equipment, games and much more.

For wizards of all ages there are workshops awaiting, dance school, sport activities and competitions, stands full of toys, jewellery and treats and of course sausages, music and fire place. Adrenalin will be bubbling at the u-ramp exhibition with new obstruction Funbox line. Sparks will be flying over at the celebratory lighting of the fire by the mayor alongside the most beautiful witches with title Miss.

Theatre, beatbox, concerts and fire show

On the main stadium two well-known witchy personalities will present the dance show by studio Primavera and a comedy show by theatre Buchty and loutky. The whole day production will be accompanied by beatboxer Jonáš Mlejnek. Music will reach a kickass crescendo with two concerts by Žlutý pes and Airfare! After sunset the park will become energised with a spectacular light show that casts its Pyrrotera made spell.

This year the witches in Ladronka will be supported by Tereza Maxová foundation helping deserted and disadvantaged children. Visitors can buy environment friendly bags knowing that the profit will go towards children in need. You can compete with witches any time on 1st April. All you have to do is to reveal to the world your inner wizard face. Winner is the one who will get most votes.
