The exhibition Film Magician Karel Zeman is made up of 38 1000x700-mm format photos and three large text panels of the same size. The author of the accompanying text on Zeman’s productions is film historian PhDr. Pavel Taussig, who has cooperated with Film Festival Zlín on various projects for many years. The exposition maps Zeman’s productions at Zlín’s film studio from 1945 to 1980. With these black & white photographs we have managed to commemorate Zeman’s most famous films - live-action, animated and combined.
The exhibition Film Magician Karel Zeman has been prepared by Filmfest, s.r.o., the organizer of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín as part of a retrospective of Karel Zeman's films. It will be put on display in major cities throughout the world in cooperation with the Czech Centres, which in many cases have expressed significant interest at the prospect of presenting the exhibition.
The travelling exhibition arrived in Prague‘s Hybernia Theatre from New York, including the original costume of the film character Baron Munchausen. The dates of further stops of the exhibition are being negotiated with the Czech Centres in Paris, Madrid, Seoul, Stockholm, Sofia and others.
