United Islands Will Have Record-breaking Size

Mezi Ploty Celebrates Twenty-Year Birthday in Grand Style
Many stars are expected at the jubilee 20th year of the Between the Fences festival, which will be held at the weekend between 28th and 29th May in the Psychiatric Therapeutic Institution Bohnice. The biggest culture show with humanitarian mission will offer music bands Psí vojáci and Hradišťan, singers David Koller and Dan Bárta, actors from Na Zábradlí theatre, Arnošt Goldflam and many other excellent artists.

Dagmar Pecková to Become the Face of Prague Symphony Orchestra
Prague Symphony Orchestra begins its new season, the 77th in its history, with Principal Conductor Jiří Kout. The inaugural concert of the season, which takes place on 14th September in Prague’s Municipal House, will feature works by Carl Maria von Weber, Igor Stravinsky and Ludwig van Beethoven. A resident artist and face of PSO for the coming year will be mezzo-soprano Dagmar Pecková. Composer Juraj Filas will also be a resident artist.

Prague Conservatory Celebrates 200th Year Anniversary
Three years of celebrations honouring the 200th year anniversary of the foundation of the Prague Conservatory will culminate on 12th May. This is the day the performance of the Prague Conservatory Symphony Orchestra will open the International Music Festival Prague Spring.

Jazz, Classical Music and Red Carpet at Prague Proms
Prague Proms is a truly unique music festival that will transform Prague into a sonorous vortex of spellbinding film, great jazz and classical music for a whole month. Between 21st June and 23rd July, Prague will come alive by famous melodies created by composers from all over the world. Now in its 7th year, Prague Proms will, along with many other great impresarios, feature Ennio Morricone, who composed music for that legendary movie Once upon a Time in the West, as well as the world renowned trumpeter and a three-time Grammy Award-winning Terence Blanchard, and the jazz-funk fusion band Level 42.

Chick Corea in Prague
The legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea and the vibraharpist Gary Burton will present their new album The New Crystal Silence on Saturday 26th March in Prague Congress Centre. The album has won the prestigious Grammy Award for the best jazz instrumental album. According to the news from their current tour, listeners can look forward to a two-hour concert.
