Golden Trumpets Will Have Tesla Arena Dancing
On 15th October all lovers of good Moravian folk and brass-band music can come to the Tesla Arena to see a spectacular brass-band concert entitled Golden Trumpets. Among other numbers there will be at least 100 Czech songs from the brass-band hit parade, groups from Bohemia and Moravia will perform and there will be a grand celebration of brass-band music on the dance-floor, where a world record attempt will be made for the number of people dancing to brass-band music under one roof.

Midsummer Night’s Dream Floats Music on Water
Encouraged by last year’s success, the civic association Luka Praha is organising the second year of Midsummer Night’s Dream Festival between 1st and 22nd July. The festival full of music, dance, film, art and entertainment is staring the fresh holder of The Order of the Legion of Honour, famous director Emir Kusturica, who will perform together with his band No Smoking Orchestra on the pontoon in the middle of the Vltava River.

Hip-hop Fans Head to the MeetFactory on Friday
Between 17th and 18th June, Prague’s club MeetFactory will hold a two-day alternative festival 808 Double Time Fest. The event will feature both existing stars of the local hip-hop scene as well as new musical projects and famous foreign rappers. The festival will culminate by Saturday’s performance of Music of Black Origin holder, British rapper Giggs.

Vyšehrad Alive with Music and Theatre
The 8th edition of Vyšehraní, the International Festival of Theatre and Music, started on 7th June with a concert by Wabi Daněk, Aneta Langerová and Peter Nagy. In the weeks to come, until 24th June, the festival will present dozens of musical and theatre formations from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Respect World Music Festival 2011
The 14th edition of Prague Respect World Music Festival will be held on the weekend of 11th and 12th June on Štvanice Island. As usual, it presents both legends of the genre as well as less known names and music from so far not mapped areas.

Prague Proms Festival Is, Was and Always will Be!
The Prague Proms Festival, which offers a whole range of musical genres, from jazz, through classical music to orchestral film compositions, first began in 2005. Even in those days, on the home ground of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the direction of the festival was clear. A light-hearted look at symphony music and its contemporary overlaps, interesting guest soloists and conductors, and of course jazz.

Tosca at Petynka Outside Swimming Pool
On 13th June at 8 p.m., large screens all over Europe will be switched on so that viewers can enjoy the live broadcast of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca from Palais de les Arts Reina Sofia from Valencia, Spain.

United Islands Will Have Record-breaking Size
Between 23rd and 25th June, United Islands Festival will reach the record-breaking number of no less than150 live music sets. Prague will pulse to the rhythms of a multitude of tunes in twenty clubs and stages on four islands.

Summer Festival of Early Music bows to Baroque
Venetian Baroque, renaissance polyphonics, music from 18th century Peru, musical whims for the diversion of Spanish rulers, mysterious shepherds’ flutes and ceremonial music for the court of Versailles are all on offer between 22nd July and 8th August at the 12th annual Summer Festival of Early Music.

Mezi Ploty Celebrates Twenty-Year Birthday in Grand Style
Many stars are expected at the jubilee 20th year of the Between the Fences festival, which will be held at the weekend between 28th and 29th May in the Psychiatric Therapeutic Institution Bohnice. The biggest culture show with humanitarian mission will offer music bands Psí vojáci and Hradišťan, singers David Koller and Dan Bárta, actors from Na Zábradlí theatre, Arnošt Goldflam and many other excellent artists.
