The symbol of the first edition of Masquerade is Louis XIV, the longest reigning monarch in European history. Louis le Grand, nicknamed the Sun King, liked to hold merrymaking events of all kinds in his court. His time is defined by grandeur in all its forms, from architecture to social events.
Louis’s descendant to attend the ball
“Our objective is to organize an event, which will maintain the traditions and classical value of royal celebrations. Social norms, which are falling into oblivion, are very important for us. These will be commemorated by a special guest Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait of a French aristocratic family, which goes back right to Louis XIV,” says the director of the event, Kristiana Ghiuri.
Music and dance from the times of the Sun King
Also the programme will focus on the topic of the French royal court. “Among others, we are preparing a short but unique selection of fragments from the world of music and dance. Our choreographer, together with the National Theatre soloists Nikol Márová and Michal Štípa are preparing a performance on the theme The King is Dancing,” adds Masquerade’s programme director Adéla Schicker.
The event is organized by the STARMANAGEMENT Agency under the auspices of the City of Prague. Tickets are available from the Ticketportal network. For more information visit www.masquerade2012.cz.
