Orchestras from all over the world
After a five year absence the 67th Prague Spring festival will be opened by the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Russian conductor Vasilij Petrenko. The festival programme also includes performances by several prestigious foreign orchestras – the Vienna Philharmonic with conductor Daniel Barenboim, the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Chief Conductor Jiří Bělohlávek, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with British tenor Ian Bostridge, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the Warsaw Philharmonic. Recitals will include performances by singers Magdalena Kožená, Edita Gruberová and Mark Padmore, with a piano recital by Ivan Moravec.
The Vienna Philharmonic concert will be the best
Ticket prices remain comparable to last year. Tickets can be bought on-line by payment card, by bank transfer or on collection. The “My Festival” section of the website gives clear and comprehensive information about buying or reserving tickets. The cheapest tickets cost between 100 – 500 CZK, while the most expensive, for the Vienna Philharmonic concert, are priced at 3500 – 4900 CZK.
Buying tickets is easier than ever
According to the organisers, the improved on-line sales system should make registration and ticket purchase much simpler. “We don’t anticipate any problems, we are sure it will go well. It’s a purchasing procedure in three easy steps and it should be a lot simpler. Thanks to this, Prague Spring will also have important feedback,” said festival spokesperson Alena Svobodová.
