Concerts throughout the year
Club series were started today in Palace Akropolis by newly discovered talent from the English club scene Haight Ashbury who will also play in Prague in June. Some of other confirmed participants of the club scene are, apart from others stars of world music, Afro Celt Sound System who will exhibit with their show on 9th May in the big Lucerna hall, followed by Spanish singer La Shic, New York cult guitarist Popa Chubby or Hungarian cymbals group Cimbaliband.

“We hope that United Islands will, with its optimism, add buoyancy in these currently pricarious times. We will bring lots of bands and many of them will be playing in the Czech Republic for the first time, we believe that there will be many people who will feel like discovering something new,” said festival organiser David Gaydečka.
Dramaturgy will be traditional
United Islands will offer concerts divided into three dramaturgy series. Just like in the past it will be series United Islands Reloaded, containing bands and performers from previous years of United Islands festival. Current music trends and novelties from the international club scene will be representing by series United Island Exit. Series United Islands Garage will introduce old timers and stars of classical genre such as folk, blues, rock and roll and jazz.
Not only between the islands
Music and supporting program of June festival will take place in Střelecký, Slovanský and Dětský island, Kampa and Janáčkovo nábřeží (embankment). Prior to this will be traditional club nights. Festival is working with a budget of 20 million CZK. More information on www.unitedislands.cz.
