Stromovka, alias Royal Enclosure, could be just as well labelled Prague Central Park. This large green oasis embraces small lakes and full-grown trees that provide such pleasant dappled shade. It is an ideal place for picnics, family outings; a place where mums can enjoy pushing their prams around and the older generation can sit on one of the many benches and watch the world go by. From one side Stromovka is easily accessible directly from tram stops. From the other side you can even hop on a steamer that goes directly from the park, it paddles up the northern edge of the park, unless you exit the boat on the other side and head to Troja and the ZOO. What was in the past a game park currently serves mainly for recreation, but it offers so much more than that. In the Planetarium of City Prague close to Výstaviště (Exhibition Grounds) you can watch educational programmes about planets and other interesting places of Universe. Small kids can make use of a playground that has recently been renovated.
