“It is an attractive tournament, a summer event during which both amateur and professional players have a chance to meet. It will be a very nice spectacle appreciated by the audience,” said Saša Mráz from Beachklub Pankrác.
Good prize money
Men and women will compete on the first day of the tournament. The second day is reserved for mixed pairs and juniors. The beginning is always at 9 a.m. “Besides the points towards ABV ranking, there is also prize money of 140 thousand crownes,” said S. Mráz.
Favourites and representatives
The list of participants is full of interesting names, including the second best male double team Martin Tichý – Jan Dumek, top-class Beachklub Pankrác coaches Pavel Krč and Milan Hadrava, Czech volleyball representative Jiří Popelka. For Dumek and Tichý, it is not the first Ideastav Cup. They have already ended up second and then they even won the tournament before.
“It is a pleasant tournament and since it is held in Pankrác, there will be a lot of people I know,“ says Martin Tichý, who is also a coach at Beachklub Pankrác.
End of season celebration
Fans and players can also meet outside the sand, on Saturday at an after party in the city centre. The very end of the event will take place on 1st September. It will be a tournament determining the king and the queen of Ideastav Cup.
