Motol Pool
Motol open-air pool is suitable also for beginners, since it is quite shallow and the bottom is mostly sandy. On the grounds, people can also play table tennis or volleyball. There are toilets and changing rooms, as well as refreshments. The pool is supervised by a lifeguard.
Hostivař Dam
Hostivař Dam was closed over the past few years due to mud removal works. Now it has reopened and attracts visitors for all kinds of sports activities; volleyball, streetball, tennis, skittles table tennis. Also the natural surroundings are very nice. Thanks to the mud removal, the water is the cleanest in Prague, according to health officials.
Šeberák
The famous pond in Kunratice has a sandy beach, gradually descending in the water. There is refreshments, changing rooms, toilets and showers, boat rental, children’s playground with a trampoline and various climbing frames.
Džbán
The swimming area situated in the nature reserve of Divoká Šárka is ideal for all those who want to enjoy a rest from the hustle and bustle of the city. The large area of the tank makes it possible for everyone to find their own peaceful nook. People can choose from various sports, such as beach volleyball, football or frisbee. There is a car park right beside the entrance gate and the grounds also offer refreshment places as well as parking for camper vans.
Water quality
The water in Šeberák, Kunratice, has improved over the last month by two points. Health officials have given it the best assessment on the scale of five. The same assessment has also be given to Motol and Hostivař. One point less compared to the results in May, has been awarded to Džbán. Still, it is definitely fit for swimming. The quality of water in summer months is measured every two weeks and the results can be found at www.hygpraha.cz.
No need to worry about sanitation
Besides natural swimming pools, a great number of outside pools is open in Prague, e.g. Kolovraty pool, Pražačka, Divoká Šárka, the popular pools in Na Stírce, Petynka, Avia Čakovice and Klánovice pool. We should also mention the sports grounds Yellow Spa, offering swimming in the Vltava as well as paddling in an artificial lagoon.
