Prague Planetarium in Brief

Planetarium, which was first opened on 20th November1960, is located next to the Bubeneč exhibition ground in the Royal Enclosure – Stromovka. Visitors can discover the mysteries of the Universe and a wealth of research information, the establishment also offers special school programmes. With the 23 metres in diameter, the Prague Planetarium’s screening copula counts amongst the biggest in the world. It also boasts the optomechanical planetarium in Cosmorama hall that shows stars and planets as seen from the Earth in the highest possible optical quality. The Digital planetarium that operates the SkySkan Definiti and Digistar3 system and 3D enables one to observe the Universe in space and time and watch its phenomena from every known place.
