“The festival will offer many unique and great dance experiences, most of them are here for the first time in the Czech Republic,” said Yvona Kreuzmannová, who is the chairwoman of the civic association that organises the event.
The festival will host ensembles from France, Germany, Argentina, Great Britain, Israel, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Japan and of course from the Czech Republic. You can experience great dance spectacles not only in Prague’s theatres Ponec, Archa and in the New Stage of the National Theatre and Music Theatre Karlín, but also in other Czech towns, namely in Brno, Česky Krumlov, Hradec Králové, Choceň, Jihlava, Olomouc, Ostrava, Pardubice, Plzeň and Valašské Meziříčí.
In Prague, the main attraction is the famous Swiss ensemble Alias with their fascinating and hypnotic choreography Sideways Rain that will be staged on 26th and 27th June in the Music Theatre Karlín. The visitors can also look forward to the Flemish ensemble Ultima Vez that will come on 28th and 29th June to Archa Theatre to showcase their new performance Booty Looting by Wima Vandekeybuse.
The festival’s programme will also offer workshops, films, lectures for students and general public. Between 28th May and 2th June, the main part of the festival will be preceded by the DANCE FOR CHILDREN event that offers workshops, performances, discussions, presentations and motion games, all of them aim engage kids and parents in dance. The festival will culminate by the ZigZag performance by the French ensemble Etantdonné. This event is suitable even for small kids and offers an interactive workshop as well.
