This longest performed show was premiered on 15th April 1977. Since then it has been repeated 6,170 times at several of Prague’s stages and in sixteen world countries, including Canada and United States.

Mostly performed in Central Europe

The Wonderful Circus is therefore the most frequently performed production in the whole of Central Europe. If it was performed daily it would fill the programme of one theatre for sixteen years! It has, in the process, brought up several generations of audience as well as dancers who have been passing the parts on to each other. Already 21 Sad clowns, 23 Happy clowns, 21 Seducers and 29 Venuses have taken turns in the  sophisticated play directed by Evald Schorm with ingenious stage design by Josef Svoboda, costumes by Zdenek Seydl and music by Oldřich F. Korte.

The performance that is suitable also for tourists will be staged on 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th and 31st August, always at 8 pm. The tickets can be purchased here.
