The tram track had been closed until the end of June due to extensive repairs on the tracks as well as the completion of making stops in both directions wheelchair-accessible. Now there is a lift in M. D. Rettigové Street which will enable people on wheelchairs or mothers with prams a comfortable entrance to Národní třída metro station. The closure of the tram track lasted two months and cost over 52 million CZK.

Prague 1 also adjusted the barrier-free tram stop in Vodičkova Street in the direction of Wenceslas Square. This was not a part of the general repairs. It was carried out by the Technical Road Administration. The tram tracks as a whole were repaired by Prague Public Transit Company.

In the course of the renovations, 230 metres of tram track with a surface made of granite tiles were changed, as well as a part of the track construction in Senovážné Square.

Cllr. Jiří Pařízek said that just like today we have the barrier-free Lazarská stop, the whole public transport should be wheelchair accessible by the year 2025. People on wheelchairs from The Tap Tap band and people from Asisttence, who had for a long time been pointing out the issue of Lazarská stop, assisted at the official opening of the stop.
