The Capital City of Prague offers the possibility of free advertising at designated locations, especially in glazes display areas at public transport stops and other city sites. Anyone wishing to use these sites has to fulfil certain criteria including the fact that the event advertised must be of charitable or community-service nature, or the city must be involved in it etc. Applicants who fulfil these conditions have to apply at least three months in advance to the PR department. Applications are assessed at a city council meeting and if all the conditions are satisfied, the applications are approved.

Once approved, an advertisement can be placed in the designated sites for the duration of 14 days. The applicant covers only the production cost of the advertisement. The council cannot directly influence the specific location of the advertisement. However, an application can be accompanied by a location request and, if free spaces are available, the request may be granted. If necessary, the companies who provide the service can be approached directly (see bellow). An application form can be downloaded from the city hall pages: http://magistrat.praha-mesto.cz/default.aspx?id=63362&ido=5246&sh=-1333555560 (available only in Czech).

Different situation arises when somebody wants to place a billboard or other advertising facility at public places. For his type of advertisement a fee of 100 Kč/m2/day applies and an application is to be sent to the municipal tax department.
