They are people living amongst us, who, at a certain point of their lives, decided to take their destiny into their own hands, make a change and step into the uncertain world of business. They often do so without any experience or big loans, using just what they have and what they know. We would like gradually introduce those whose bravery enough and endurance, as well as a good idea have helped them to overcome all the pitfalls which life throws in the way of a business person.
We would like to introduce people who managed to persuade not only themselves but also others that what they stand for is meaningful and that they do it well. They are people living in our midst.

We are Looking for Talented Children: Jiří Kotmel, Organizer of Zlatý Oříšek (Golden Nut)
For those who do not know, the Zlatý oříšek competition looks for talented children from 6 to 14 years of age. Doctor Dagmar Kotmelova, a long-time worker of the Czech radio broadcasting established the competition in 1998. A few years ago she succumbed to a serious illness, Zlatý oříšek was left without its general organizer but only until the event was taken over by her son Jiří.

To make children see well: Orthoptists Martina Hamplová
She wears a white gown and so everyone calls her a doctor even though she is not a doctor. When she says that she is an Orthoptists no one knows what she means. Because she works next to the surgery which provides surgical insoles, she sometimes has to explain that orthoptics do is to deal with eyes.

First comes health then beauty: Physiotherapist and owner of Santera studio Jitka Seidlová
Our futures are often influenced by significant accidents, chance or radical changes. Such was the case of Jitka Seidlová who got a degree in physiotherapy and was determined to work in health service. After university she started to work at a clinic and stayed there for a couple of years. However, moving and taking care of children made her face the question what to do next. Jitka Seidlová had to make a further step, which meant a big unknown for her.
