People who submit tenders will find it much easier to obtain a statement that proves their qualification. This will simplify and speed up the process of processing proposals. At the same time, all the existing communication channels and services that are part of the “List of Qualified Suppliers” will be preserved.

The Ministry for Regional Development is the first department that provides public register statements; it asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the “List of Qualified Suppliers” to become a part of the Czech POINT project. Both Ministries expect that the new system of obtaining statements will be working by the end of 2008.

Czech POINT is welcomed

The Czech POINT project was given a name “Everything at one place”. According to the Ministry’s spokesman, Jan Štoll, this is currently the most noticeable part of public administration digitalisation. Thanks to the new system, public administration is more user-friendly, as there are less unnecessary questions and operations burdening citizens.

The bill sets a list of municipal and representative’s offices, which function as contact points of public administration, and it comes into force on 1st September 2008. Since then, almost a thousand workplaces have been becoming involved in the Czech POINT project. On 5th October, there were altogether 2569 Czech POINT offices, and 768 243 statements have already been issued

Up-to-date information about the project can be found on the CzechPOINT website (available only in Czech).
