This is the way the scouts are making their mark to celebrate Earth Day, on 22nd April. The trees can be planted in a garden or in places around Prague were it is permitted.
Make Prague green
Scouts will be handing out young tree plants to anyone interested in planting their tree in places around Prague where it is permitted or even highly recommended. The event will start at 15:00 PM in Náměstí Míru, which will, thanks to 250 trees, turn into a one big forest. More trees will be handed out between 15:00 and 17:00 PM at metro stations Skalka, Roztyly, Dejvicka and Černý Most.
Tree on-line
On receiving the young tree instructions will be given advising people on how to plant it and how to take care of it. “They can also take a photo of their tree and download it on the projects web site www.vyrustmezistromy.cz, where it will show up on on-line map. Here they will find care tips and other information. “We are participating in the project Grow up Surrounded by Trees, because we would like people to realize that nature even in the city is playing a very important role,” commented on the project Mr David Yilma, leader of scout team from Vinohrady.
