A considerable part of institutional healthcare (fundamental and specialized) is provided in big training hospitals that are in directing competence of the Ministry of Health. Those institutions provide specialized and highly specialized healthcare even for other regions in the Czech Republic. At present, mainly these institutions are in the process of reduction and restructuring of beds. Up-to-date information is available at the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
Institutional healthcare is provided apart from state institutional healthcare facilities, also in nongovernmental healthcare facilities (the number of facilities registered to 31st December 2004)
