Situation Has Stabilised, Some Snow Might End Up in Vltava
In the end, the record amount of snow will probably have to be thrown into the Vltava. So far, it has only been gathered on the riverbanks, but there is so much of it that it will probably have to be thrown into the river.

A New Police Team – Drugs Prague – fighting against distribution of narcotics in the streets of Prague
The team of specialists from the Municipal Police of Prague began its activity on 1st January 2010. Its main task is to reduce the availability of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the capital and thus gradually eliminate their trafficking.

Frost and snow in Prague is perfectly alright in the middle of the coldest month of the year. The great amount of snow that has covered the city over the last few days and made the city look like an alpine resort causes problems with public transport but also brings joy to both enthusiastic and not so enthusiastic lovers of winter sports.

Police Spotlight on “Karlák”
The public safety situation in Karlovo Square has not been very rosy in the last few days. Pick-pockets are active, homeless people bother tourists, the grass is littered with hypodermic needles left by drug abusers. The Town Hall is taking a stand against this.

Level of Vltava Getting Back to Normal
On Friday the 10th of July, the anti-flood gate in Čertovka reopened. This does not, however, mean that the water flow is as ususal again.

The Situation on the Vltava Is Stable, Further Changes on Thursday
The level of the Vltava has stabilised in the last few hours at a flow rate of around 800 m3 per second. For the time being the city is not planning any further precautions.

Anti-Flood Barrier in Divadelní Street
Continuous rain in the south of Bohemia and the consequent withdrawal of water from dams on the Vltava has required a preventative anti-flood barrier in Divadelní Street. So far, the flow in the Vltava has not exceeded 900 cubic metres per second, which only qualifies as the first degree of flooding.
