The list is based on votes by volunteers who, at their own expense, made undercover visits and judged individual premises. Anyone who registered on the web site www.grandbar.cz (available only in Czech) could vote.
Nine places in the top ten were taken by Prague venues, hotel bars were strongly represented– all bars in the first ten fall into the higher priced category and most of them can be found in the city centre. Volunteers were evaluating the quality of drinks, level of service, interior and overall atmosphere.
Barego Bar come out tops, in second place was La Casa de La Havana Vieja bar, third came Two Steps bar, fourth Bugsy’s Bar and fifth place was taken by Cloud 9 Sky Bar & Lounge.
