According to the report by the Czech Statistical Office 6, 116, 015 tourists came to Prague, which is up by almost four percent from the previous year. “We are doing our best so that Prague doesn’t depend on just one source country. Our activities, be it foreign internet campaign, advertisements on a plane or participation in tourism fairs, systematically aim at potential tourists from the main source countries, as well as guests from developing markets. Although Prague has been facing a significant decrease in the number of Russian tourists, this is compensated mainly by the Chinese, Koreans, Indians and Germans,“ says the Director of Prague City Tourism Nora Dolanská.

The first ten countries coming to Prague are dominated by Germans, whose number increased by 59 thousand when compared to the year 2013. Although the number of Russians decreased by 67 thousand, they still rank second. The third place goes to Americans with a thirty-thousand increase, followed by the British, Italians and the French. Other countries that made it to the top ten are Slovakia, Poland and Spain.

The most significant increase in the number of tourists is our guests from South Korea, with an increase of 34 thousand more (i.e. 37 %) than the previous year. Also the number of Chinese visitors increased by 35 thousand (i.e. 31 %).
