The Four Continents Jazz festival (Jazz Čtyř Kontinentů) is one of the most varied music shows regarding genre. During the first quarter of this year, Jazz Dock will feature modern jazz, blues, americana, fusion and nu-funk.

The festival’s highlight will be the concert of a contemporary American jazz star, Ambrose Akinmusire. The winner of several renowned international competitions has worked with many celebrated musicians, including Esperanza Spalding, Aaron Parks and Gerald Clayton, and has released three solo albums. His trumpet play is virtuosic, emotional and heartfelt.

The February part of the festival will feature Israeli double bass player and multi-instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra. This phenomenal musician moves unerringly and without hesitation from one instrument to another even during one song. Using an intelligent combination of sound effects and pedals, Adam loops his tones so that he can bring the audience authentic sounds worthy of a small orchestra.

After nearly a year, another famous musician - the phenomenal guitar player Julian Lage - returns to Jazz Dock. At the age of 28, this musician has achieved an extraordinary resume: he collaborated with personalities such as Charles Lloyd, Gary Burton, Jim Hall, David Grisman and Béla Fleck, and has released several albums as a leading musician. Critics consider his most recent CD, Modern Lore, as the best in his collection to date. Among his fellow countrymen are also members of another group in the festival - the all-star band from New York named FORQ. Their repertoire blends jazz, rock, funk and hip hop. Their music is wild, playful, soulful and rich, both in musical intelligence and earthy dance grooves.
