Cécile Da Costa is a singer, dancer, performer, and most recently a choreographer, with both French and Portuguese roots. She created the ‘Roselyne’ project in cooperation with Dominika Špalková and with the support of the City of Prague.

Who is Roselyne?

‘Roselyne’ is a solo performance, with da Costa dancing with her flower and giving monologues in English (Czech translation is provided in the programme brochure). Roselyne reflects our own doubts and indecisiveness, and the choices we don’t make. It is imperfect, just like we are.

The dancer was inspired to create the character by a woman she once knew, and whose death she witnessed.
