Originally a medieval fortress with preserved embrasures, and with later Renaissance and Baroque modifications, it is a place where various concerts, plays, fairs and shows are held. There is also an art gallery. This time, the castle has prepared a fairy-tale family weekend, including an open-air cinema, guided tours with princesses, evening tours of the exhibition and goodies from the patisserie.

Summer theatre

On Friday, ‘Hugo’, an award-winning film by the famous American director Martin Scorsese, will be screened for free at the open-air cinema. Famous actors such as Sacha Baron Cohen, Chloë Grace Moretz, Jude Law and Ben Kingsley star in this dark fantasy-adventure film.

On Saturday, the open-air cinema will screen the film ‘Harvie and the Magic Museum’ (‘Hurvínek a kouzelné muzeum’). Spectators of all ages will delight in this animated family comedy.

Guided tours and exhibition

Child-friendly tours are also available, where the guides will be the charming Sleeping Beauty in a beautiful dress and Cinderella.

Both on Friday and Saturday evening, the current exhibition ‘Umění loutky’ (The Art of the Puppet), where historical Czech puppets from 1850 to 1950 can be seen, will stay open later than usual.
