City Councillor for Culture Milan Richter, announced that rebuilding the left wing, which was destroyed by fire last year, might be able to start as soon as next year. The completion for this monument is unlikely to be finished sooner than two years time.

The construction of the palace is budgeted to cost 1.5 billion CZK with the left wing to cost one billion CZK, in addition the City will pay a further 260 billion CZK for the underpass below the Průmyslový Palace and 220 billion CZK for new technology. This will be placed underground below the left wing.

The City will announce a separate competition for the technological arrangements to run concurrently. While the architect will be chosen by the Department of Culture, the technical arrangements will be decided upon by the Department of the City Investor. The City Hall may well have to spend a total of 4.1 billion CZK related with the announcement of this contest.

Prague City is insisting on maintaining the original appearance of the new wing. However, at the same time there will be significant upgrades to the safety standards.
