The chateau was opened on May 1. Visitors would be able to see not only the reconstructed rooms but also an exhibition of the graphic painter Ludmila Jiřincová as well as an exhibition of local artists and pupils from local school. The opening was accompanied with musical performances.

Reconstruction itself started last year in September. Interesting facts are that there was a lift installed, the boiler room is situated in the loft and the whole building is controlled electronically. The room for carriages has been rebuilt as well and new paving on the courtyard was laid.

There is a new summer scene for 100 onlookers. You should also notice a modern building with sanitary facilities, where a passage to a small garden is.

Reconstruction costs were partly covered by the funds from EU. Horní Počernice succeeded with their project with a total valued at 65 million CZK. The roof was repaired previously for 5 million CZK, over the last ten years underground services as well as improvements of the garden have been completed.

There probably used to be a gothic stronghold in Chvaly. It was later rebuild in Renaissance style and Jesuits acquired it in the 17 th century. The Jesuit’s order made the gardens and built extensive passages reaching as far as Vinoř. The whole chateau was nationalized in 1951 and the area was used by the state organization. Horní Počernice got it in the 90´s.
