    Each year the number of passengers using the Prague Public Transport declines due to the summer holiday and this leads to some adjustments to the timetables. As usual, the summer intervals are going to divide into the pre-holiday and the holiday period, however, this year’s changes to services are more subtle. As announced by Filip Drápal, the ROPID spokesperson.

    Cyklohráček, a special weekend train for cyclists and families with children, has become very popular. No wonder that it is going to get reinforced. Cyklohráček is a joint project of ROPID, Czech Railways and the City of Prague.
  • 15. 5. 2014 Cyklohráček - Bike and Child Friendly Train
    The so called Cyklohráček is ideal for families with children. This new bike and child friendly train starts its operation on 17th May on the route from Prague to Okoř and Slaný. It operates at weekends and national holidays until the end of the season. Especially trained team makes sure children don’t get bored during the jurney. All this is a joint project of the City of Prague, ROPID and Czech Railways.

  • 1. 5. 2014 Every Weekend: Prague’s Historical Train Back on Track
    For the fifth time, the historical vehicle “motoráček” sets off along the most beautiful railway in Prague. It runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 26th April 2014 onwards, and on Bank Holidays on 5th July, 6th July, and 28th September 2014 (please note that the train does not operate on 1st May and 8th May 2014).
  • 28. 4. 2014 No Trams between Lazarská and Jindřišská until End of June
    From Saturday 26th April, Prague Public Transport Company (DPP) will be carrying out maintenance works on the tram track in the area Lazarská – Jindřišská. As a result, trams will not be operating and road transport will be restricted in streets Lazarská, Vodičkova and Jindřišská. Repair works are divided into several stages but all works should finish on 28th June.

    Národní Třída metro station, which is closed due to construction work on Quadria (next to “My” shopping centre), is also undergoing extensive reconstruction and will reopen in a matter of weeks. The station is to be in operation again at the beginning of July.

    Between Saturday 5. 4. 2014 and September 2014, selected suburban bus lines will be reinforced on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays due to increased demand. This applies mainly to the attractive areas around Prague, which are regularly visited by tourists.
