Here is a short selection of the events.

Wednesday 16th September

Cyclists Day

Vypálené Koťátko Café has prepared breakfast for cyclists. The café is located near Hradčanská metro station, in Charlotte G. Masaryk Park, on the corner of Badeniho and Na Valech streets. Those who go to work in the morning can also taste freshly baked treats from the Lichtenberg Bakery in Dejvice. The event takes place from 8 to 11 a.m. (This event will be held from Wednesday to Friday, inclusive.)
People can also learn how to repair a bike in Auto*Mat and Milada Society bicycle workshop in Truhlářská Street. There will be refreshments with mostly vegan food (Wednesday only.)

Thursday 17th September.

Traffic Education Day

The main programme will take place at the children’s mock-traffic grounds of the Museum of the Police of the CR in Karlov and another mock-traffic grounds will be open in Prague, too.

Friday 18th September.

Traffic Information Day

Blanka Tunnels Information Centre in Letná will be open to the public and people will also have the opportunity to have a look into the big hole that has been dug in Letná. We recommend people to come on foot. Drivers will have to be patient, as it is expected that a lot of people will visit the place that day. Similar events usually attract about four thousand people.

Saturday 19th September

Public Transport

Galas Cycleride has been prepared for Saturday to “experience the city in a different way“. Participants can visit little shops in Saský Dvůr, Bridge Tower, Old Town Tower, U Lávky Gallery, the Astronomical Clock, underground collectors and go by a ferry boat. The ride starts at 10 a.m. in Folimanka Park.

There will also be Prague Public Transit Company Open Day, during which people will have the opportunity to visit free of charge the Public Transport Museum, Střešovice tram depot, Zličín metro depot and Řepy bus depot. The Day of Municipal Police, Firebrigade and Medical Emergency Safety System will also be held that day in Stromovka Park.

Sunday 20th September

Day without cars on Smetana Embankment and Experience the City in a Different Way street party

Smetana Embankment will turn into a pedestrian zone with no cars or trams, which will be diverted onto the other bank of the river. Praguers can look forward to little cafés, concerts, theatre performances and other interesting things. Also Vinohrady will turn into a promenade. Cars will be banned from the area between I. P. Pavlova and Náměstí Míru and people will have a chance to visit theatres, galleries, workshops, etc. Local businesses will serve coffee right on the pavement. There will be live music coming from a stage as well as from areas between street stalls. There will also be public readings by Petr Šabach, Jáchym Topol and Petra Hůlová. Several thousand people will take part in a cycle-ride that will start and finish at the festival. Other events include a fashion show and trailers to Martin Mareček’s film Auto*Mat.

Sunday without cars will also take place in Prague 9, where people can have fun from 10 to 5 o‘clock on the bobsleigh track in Prosek and at Prosek mock-traffic grounds. Everyone who will come on foot, on a bike or by Public Transport will have a chance to enjoy a free ride. There will also be various games and competitions for kids related to road safety.

Freestyle Park Modřany has prepared a Treasure Hunt. The condition to reach the treasure is to come to the park without a car. Those who come can look forward to dancing on in-line skates, being coached in tai-chi exercises, bicycle painting and Děda Mládek Illegal Band and Ready Kirken band.

Monday 21st September

“S“ Day

Presentation of the city railways (“S“ – city connection) as the backbone of Prague Integrated Transport. Visitors can participate in a race to see what means of transport will be the first to get from Radotín to the city centre – whether it will be train, bus, car or bike.  Special material is dedicated to the “S“ Day.
