Until the end of October

The train with one engine and a trailer that enables transport of a higher than normal amount of bikes will operate every weekend and bank holiday between 29th March and 28th October 2014. Cyclists can make use of the second carriage, which is equipped with special area with lower amount of seats allowing an extra room for bikes.

Timetables almost unchanged

There are just a few timetable changes from the previous year. The cycle train leaves from Masarykovo nádraží at 9.10 a.m. and 1.41 p.m. and returns from Slany at 11.31 a.m. and 5.10 p.m. The journey from Masarykovo nádraží to Noutonice close to Okoř lasts about one hour, to Slany it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

In cycle trains applies the Czech Railway as well as Prague Integrated Transport tariff. Therefore you can combine Czech Railway tariff with Prague public transport pass.  Individual Prague Integrated Transport tickets can be used only for the journeys from Prague Masarykovo nádraží to Hostivice, if you want to travel further, you have to buy either a railway ticket or use the Prague Integrated Transport season tickets (valid to Podlešín station). Price per bike is based Czech Railway tariffs and starts at 25 CZK (depending on distance), in Prague bikes can be transported for free when using Prague public transport fare.

A good tip for trip

The cycle train aims to enable visits to such attractive places as the castle Okoř, St. Peter and Pavel Rotund in Budeč, birthplace of Ota Pavel in Buštěhrad or the Zákolansky stream valley.

Notice: Between 10. 4. and 5. 5. 2014, a closure is planed between Noutonicemi and Podlešín. Therefore, the train won’t operate in the section Noutonice – Slaný.

In 2013, the bike train to Okoř and Slany was used by 6037 passengers, who transported altogether 706 bikes. For this year, the Czech Railways in cooperation with ROPID have prepared several novelties that should entice even more passengers.  In the course of spring, they plan to start using the cutting-edge trains with many new services.
