Fines for invalid or no show tickets are going to be higher from January 2014. The City Council decided to increase it from 1.000 CZK to 1.500 CZK.

800 CZK fine will apply to passengers with no valid ticket who pay for their fine directly to an inspector or within 15 days to the DPP (Prague Public Transport Company) cash desk. Those who can prove later that they were holders of a valid transport ticket at a time of control will be charged the usual 50 CZK.

This way the Council aims to put pressure on fare dodgers.
